Sarah is a skilled researcher with 8 years of practical experience in project research of relief, recovery and development projects. Five years of this experience is in Child related research. Her skills in research include implementation, analysis and report writing. Sarah has designed and led researches for children in need of special protection measures and integrated community child protection interventions. She has done many researches and Presentations in Adolescent and Childhood parental practices with previous experience working with children as well as vulnerable and marginalized groups using participatory approaches, as well as this work, Sarah has implemented researches in food, nutrition and livelihood security and value additions to grains, market and private sector engagements which contributed to the improvement of the livelihoods of the people in Karamoja. Sarah is confident in use of variety of approaches and tools for vulnerability assessment; execution of baseline surveys, final evaluations, use of PRA data collection techniques, for quantitative & qualitative surveys. She has facilitated trainings for staff in qualitative & quantitative methodologies’ Sarah’s technical arm also includes 13 years of experience in Programming, managing, coordinating and implementing programmes, both at community and national level. These programmes include food & livelihoods security, health, HIV/AIDS, nutrition and, child & youth protection and development, women protection and empowerment.

Sarah has significant experience of over 10 years in operating in remote contexts of northern Uganda, Ethiopia and the pastoralist regions of East Africa. She strongly advocates for the cash and voucher programing as one of the methods that reduce hunger among the drought affected populations. She spearheaded the pilot cash transfer approach of moderately food insecure households under the second Northern Uganda Social Action fund (NUSAF 2) under UN WFP. This transfer modality was adopted by World food programme (WFP) Uganda, in areas of Karamoja and other refugee areas. She has worked with Oxfam, UNWFP, Save the Children and World Vision. Sarah has Master’s degree in Development studies from Uganda Martyrs University and holds a Bachelor of Arts Social Science degree of Maker ere University with a certificate in project planning and management of the same university
